  2. What is ACDA? ACDA stands for the American Choral Director’s Association The Western Division is comprised of 5 states: California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah 23 Choirs were invited Only 2 Middle School Choirs 
  3. Thursday 7:00 a.m. Meet at DWMS **Students are excused all day from school. Students must make up all work. ***All luggage will be searched before leaving!! 8:00 a.m. Depart Del Webb Middle School 1:00 p.m. Arrive at Ramada Hotel *Ramada Limited Santa Barbara Hotel 4770 Calle Real Santa Barbara, CA 93110 1(805) 964-3511 1:30 p.m. Get settled into rooms; hang up formal choir uniforms (NOT ON FIRE SPRINKLERS!) 3:15 p.m. Depart from Hotel for Grenada Theater 3:30 p.m. Arrive at Grenada Theatre*Grenada Theatre 1214 State St. Santa Barbara, CA 93101
  4. Thursday Continued 3:40 p.m. Watch Concert Session 1 (Barbershop Harmony Society, Utah Valley Univ. Chamber Choir)  4:45 p.m. Break. 5:35 p.m. ACDA Western Division Conference DRESS REHEARSAL  6:10 p.m. Depart Theatre for Hotel 6:30 p.m. Dinner at hotel, catered by California Pizza Kitchen (Pizza, Pasta, Salads, and dessert) 8:30 p.m. In your hotel rooms getting uniforms & everything ready for dress rehearsal and performance tomorrow. 9:30 p.m. Bed check – lights out immediately – ACDA Performances Tomorrow! 
  5. Friday PERFORMANCE DAY 7:00 a.m. Wake up call – shower, everyone looking sharp. Change into Jeans and BLACK trip shirt 8:30 a.m. Breakfast at hotel 9:45 a.m. Load bus for ACDA Western Division Conference Performance 10:00 a.m. Arrive at Grenada Theatre*Grenada Theatre 1214 State St. Santa Barbara, CA 93101 10:20 a.m. Watch other choirs perform (Univ. of Arizona Symphonic Choir, Bakersfield HS Chamber Singers, Salt Lake Vocal Artists) 11:30 p.m. Eat Panera Bread Catered lunch, change into attire (put other clothes back on buses, keep folded because they will put them back on after the performance). 1:00 p.m. ACDA Western Division Conference Warm-up 1:35 p.m. ACDA Western Division Conference Performance 2:35 p.m. Finish watching concert set.

Friday Continued 2:45 p.m. Load bus, leave for Ramada 3:00 p.m. Arrive at Hotel, change back into Black Trip Shirt 3:45 p.m. Load bus for Paseo Nuevo Shopping Center - Need money!! $$ *Paseo Nuevo Shopping Center 651 Paseo Nuevo   Santa Barbara, CA 93101 6:00 p.m. Load buses for return to Granada Theater 6:30 p.m. Arrive at Theater. Watch GVHS and 2 universities performance 9:20 p.m. Load bus, leave for Ramada 9:45 p.m. Bed check – lights out immediately

Saturday 5:30 a.m. Wake up call – shower, dressed in BLUE trip shirt and 7:00 a.m. Breakfast at hotel 7:45 a.m. Check out – put all luggage and belongings on the bus 8:00 a.m. Load bus, leave for Universal Studios, Hollywood *100 Universal City Plaza Universal City, CA 916081-800-UNIVERSAL 10:00 a.m. Arrival at Universal Studios. I will give you tickets as you exit the bus. – $$$ Money needed for lunch, dinner, and souvenirs. $$$ 6:00 p.m. Meet at Park Entrance to load bus. 6:30 p.m. Load bus, leave for DWMS 10:30 p.m. Arrive at DWMS *Parents please be at DWMS at this time to pick up your child
  8. Responsibility Please remember to be on your best behavior. Students are representing not only the DWMS Concert Choir, but DWMS, CCSD, and the State of Nevada. While in the hotel or in (or outside of) the theatre, students must be on their best behavior and respectful. While watching other choirs they are not to be on phones or talking. “Good concert etiquette!”

Trip Rules DWMS Field Trip Policy Guidelines (printed in the student planner on page 8): Any student that becomes ineligible to attend the trip due to one or more of the following will be subject to the cancellation policy provided above. No serious behavioral infractions on campus at Del Webb MS and/or any CCSD campus/property during the course of the year (RPC’s or Suspensions through the Dean’s Office, Behavior School, etc...) Must be passing ALL classes. Must have satisfactory citizenship in ALL classes. The administration reserves the right of final determination of student eligibility.
  10. Trip Rules Continued Trip Rules: All school rules including dress code must be observed during the trip. Students must follow chaperone directions at all times. Students must be on time to all assigned meetings. Students are not allowed to leave ANYWHERE unless with the entire group or with a chaperone. Students must stay with a group of three or more while in Universal Studios. Consequences for Not Following the Bus/Trip Rules (depending on severity): Student will be required to remain with a chaperone for the remaining time while at Universal Studios. Student will face disciplinary consequences through the dean’s office once returning to school. Students will be sent home at their parent’s expense for an infraction deemed serious enough.
  11. (Some of the) reasons a child could be sent home. Boy in Girl’s room; Girl in Boy’s Room Stealing Inappropriate behavior Insubordination
  12. Property Damage If, for any reason, there is property damage in the hotel room (or anyplace else) it will be paid for at the parent’s expense.
  13. Bus Rules Bus Rules: 1. No horseplay or throwing things. 2. Remain in your seats any time we are in heavy traffic or are not on freeways. 3. Do not put garbage on the bus floor. Trash bags will be provided. The floor must be clean before getting off the bus at any stop. 4. Don’t put cans, bottles, or trash into the toilet. 5. The bathroom is for emergencies only. 6. Mp3/CD/VIDEO GAME PLAYERS MUST BE PLAYED ONLY WITH HEADPHONES
  14. Other Items No Sleeping Bags! No Jewelry the day of the performance. T-Shirts. Students (or parents) can pick up their shirts after this meeting. I will give the shirts to those who aren’t here tomorrow. DRESS ATTIRE: Dresses and Men’s Outfits need to be freshly cleaned and wrinkle-free. We will do our best to keep them un-wrinkly. Students will hang up their outfits upon arrival at the Hotel – NOT ON A SPRINKLER HEAD!!
  15. BAG CHECKS Students are to arrive at 7:00 a.m. to meet with their chaperones in the DWMS Choir Room. Students must show their chaperones the following items: Dress and/or Shirt, Vest, Tie Dress Shoes and Black Socks (or nylons for ladies) Both Trip Shirts Jeans
  16. Hotel Rooms Boys are not to enter Girls Rooms. Girls are not to enter Boys Rooms. We will not have much down time at the hotel. The longest we have is when we first arrive to give students time to get unpacked. Students are not to run around the hotel or be loud. When in the rooms it is “quiet time”. Students “taped in”

  26. No Energy Drinks No Dairy on performance/rehearsal days If your child is sick (fever or vomiting) within 24 hrs of us leaving, they will not be able to attend. I’m sorry, but this flu is so contagious; I don’t want the entire choir to get sick. Thank you for understanding. Dress code is enforced!
