  1. e-filing income tax e verification process Income Tax Return recorded by the citizen is not regarded as legitimate until it is confirmed by the citizen. In the current procedure, citizen can confirm the arrival utilizing Digitally Signed Certificate or by sending marked ITR-V to CPC. As per Rule 12 vide Notification No. 41/2015, Income Tax Department has presented e-Verification of returns as a alternative for ITR-V. Taxpayers / Assessee who are required to use compulsorily DSC are not eligible to use e-Verification. Modes/prepare for e-Verification Taxpayer has a choice to e-Verify the arrival at the time of transferring/subsequent to transferring. If there should be an occurrence of as of now transferred return, citizen can at present e-Verify a similar e- Verify Return" alternative after login. Citizen can e-Verify the through "e-File return utilizing the beneath modes EVC received in Registered Mobile number and email. • (Electronic Verification Code (EVC) which is a 10 digit alphanumeric code which can be generated through e-Filing portal and is valid only for 72 hours). •Aadhaar OTP (one time password) • Login to e-Filing through Net Banking • EVC-Through Bank Account Number • EVC-Through Demat Account Number • EVC-Through Bank ATM It involve following steps to e-verify your return •You need to first Login to e-Filing Portal and then Select “Upload Return” to upload a return and Click “e-File” •Then the user need to Select the Assessment year, ITR name from the drop down and browse the XML to be uploaded and click on submit button as shown on the screen. •The Taxpayers are always provided with four different options as given below. • Option 1 –“I already have an EVC to e-Verify my return.” •Option 2 –“I do not have an EVC and I would like to generate EVC to e-Verify my return.” • Option 3 –“I would like to generate Aadhaar OTP to e-Verify my return.” • Option 4 –“I would like to send ITR-V/ I would like to e-Verify later.” We will discuss some of these option briefly- Option 1: “I already have an EVC to e-Verify my return”

When the Taxpayer once clicks on “I already have an EVC to e-Verify my return” a screen is displayed on the site where the Taxpayer need to enter the pre generated EVC in the text box that is provided on th screen and then one has to Click “Submit” to e-Verify. One the taxpayer completes above steps properly he then receives a Success message which will be displayed. No further action is required. How to Generate EVC through Bank ATM In order to generate EVC through bank ATM theTaxpayer should go to the Bank ATM. And heshould swipe the card after which he should enter his ATM PIN, then the users are provided with an extra option of “PIN FOR INCOME TAX FILING” The user should select theoption “PIN FOR INCOME TAX FILING” in order to receive EVC. After the above process EVC will be sent to the taxpayer’s registered mobile number and e-mail Id. One has to then •Login to e-Filing site/portal and then Select “Upload Return” to upload a return. •Click “e-File” After uploading the return, the user should select “I already have an EVC to e- Verify my return” •The user should enter the EVC generated through ATM card and Click on “Submit” to e-Verify the ITR V. Confirm message will be displayed and after that there is no further action is required. Option 2: “I do not have an EVC and I would like to generate EVC to e-Verify my return” When the taxpayer once clicks on “I do not have an EVC and I would like to generate EVC to e-Verify my return”. And if the taxpayer’s income is less than 5 lakhs and if, Refund/Demand is less than or equal Rs 100 and also the E-mail ID and Mobile number registered is unique in e-filing profile, then a screen is displayed to the taxpayer. Where he needs perform certain steps. EVC – Through Net Banking One has to follow the certain steps as under- •Taxpayer has to Click on “EVC –Through Net Banking” •Then one has to Click on “Continue”, Taxpayer is logged out of e-Filing and will be redirected to the list of banks available for Net Banking Login. •Login to e-Filing through Net Banking. The below screen is displayed after login. •Click on “e-Verify” link. •Confirm to e-Verify by clicking on Continue button. • Success message will be displayed. No further action is required.
