  2. The following presentation is designed to assist employed individuals in completing their Income Tax Returns. • The information shown is by no means exhaustive as individuals may have more or less information to insert on their forms.

  3. Your first step is to go to the website https://etax.ird.gov.bb and log into the Online Tax Administration System as shown above. If you are not yet a registered user please see our presentation on Self Registration.

  4. Finding your Return Select FILE NOW to start. Your PAYE Slip from your employer would have already been uploaded to your account

  5. PAGE 1 Once you open your online form you will see all your personal information already completed, if any part is incorrect please visit the registry to have it updated. If your employer submitted your income to us on line it will appear as shown above, otherwise simply insert the information from your A47:009 form given to you by your employer.

  6. PAGE 1 CONT’D Persons in receipt of pension income will complete the area above if it has not been prefilled.

  7. PAGE 2 Persons in receipt of sickness, maternity, unemployment or injury benefits from the National Insurance Office should place the amounts received in the spaces provided

  8. PAGE 2 CONT’D Lines 273 to 281 can be completed if any of the fields apply to you.

  9. PAGE 3 In order to claim for your child please enter the child’s National Registration Number in the space provided as indicated above. Select either YES or NO in response to the question and CHECK and the child’s name, age and the allowance will fall into place. Your personal allowance of $25000 will automatically fall into place.

  10. PAGE 3 CONT’D Enter the information in those fields which apply to you. In this example the individual is making a claim for mortgage interest, insurance on residential property and other home improvements.

  11. PAGE 4 An employee may only need to enter information in this section if any of the above apply, especially lines 400, 412,414 or 420.

  12. It should be noted that your information will drop into the appropriate fields. All calculations will be done automatically. You will not have to enter any information in this summary. Refund due. Select the bank, branch and account number you wish to have your refund sent to.

  13. CONCLUSION • The electronic filing of your tax return provides for an easier method of processing and finalisation of the return without the requirement of submitting any supporting documentation. • The Department therefore encourages taxpayers to continue to use our web-based facilities to enable you to fulfil your tax obligations.
