  3. The signs of the end of times • Nation will rise against nation • Kingdom will rise against kingdom • There will be famines • There will be pestilence • There will be earthquakes in various places

  4. And in those times: • Delivered up to tribulations • You will be hated for His sake • Many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another • Then false prophets will rise up and deceive • And lawlessness will abound • In short – hurt will abound

  5. Protected from hurt? • Luke 16:33 • Romans 5:1-5 • Romans 8:35-37 • Romans 12

  6. Forgiving/Releasing others • John 20:19-23 • Matthew 16:19 • Matthew 18:18 • Are we so selfish that we focus only on our own hurts……or • Can you see past your hurts, to see theirs?

  7. They could see past their hurt • Joseph toward his brothers • David toward the unjust King Saul • The prodigal’s father • Esau toward Jacob • Jonah toward the people of Ninevah • Job and his not so supportive friends • Any others?

  8. The best example • From the cross: • Jesus asked the Father to forgive mankind for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34) • He provided for His earthly mother (John 19:28-30) • He invited a thief to eternity (Luke 23:39-43)
