  2. Influence of Ancient China One example… • Nuo—an ancient dance was performed at ritual ceremonies to scare away ghosts and evil souls and to relieve people of sickness. The performers used masks. In some areas the Nuo dances were turned into theatrical performances and eventually Chinese opera.

  3. Colors • Common colors are: red, blue, black, yellow, white, purple, green • The colors represent different characters • Gold and Silver are also used to represent Gods and Spirits
