  1. Welcome To 7th Grade Language Arts 2014 - 2015 School Year Springton Lake Middle School Mrs. Megan Snyder and Mrs. Candace Krautzel

  2. Scope of Language Arts Curriculum LITERATURE: • A variety of fictional novels, poetry, and short stories are included in order to expose the children to a variety of reading genres.

  3. Scope Continued WRITING: • Quick Writes • Poetry • Personal Narrative • Literary Text Analysis (monthly)

  4. Policies Homework: • Monday through Thursday- students must read a minimum of 20 minutes per night. • Reading Log due every Friday. • Additional assignments will be assigned as needed. • To receive full credit, all assignments must be complete and on time. • Extra help is available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:03-3:20.

  5. Policies Continued Make-up work: • Students are responsible for making up all work missed due to absence. • Students have two days for each day of absence to make up assignments.

  6. Policies Continued Grading/Assessment: • Grades are based on total points (#points earned/total possible points). Students will be assessed using a variety of methods, including classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and a monthly Literary Text Analysis.

  7. Policies Continued Home Access Center (HAC): • Grades will be posted no later than two weeks after the assignment is collected. • If a student has a “Z,” this assignment is calculated into the average as a zero, but CAN be made up for partial credit. The grade will turn into a zero if the assignment is not submitted.

  8. Policies Continued Conduct: • Students are expected to follow all guidelines outlined by the Rose Tree Media School District and Springton Lake Middle School. This policy includes maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all learners.
