  1. #2 #4 #5 #1 #3 PADI Amp Amp Amp Amp Amp Amp Amp PMT2 LeCroy ADC&TDC (CAMAC) Status of scintillator detector development for central part of the TOF CBM INR (Moscow) group proposed to use scintillator detector with MAPD readout as a cheap and reliable solution for central part of the CBM TOF wall with the cell size of 20x20 mm2 This conception was experimentally tested at GSI (FOPI) in April 2009 • 3.5 GeV protons scattered at ~40 from FOPI target were used; • Start counter with two PMT readout has time resolution st~40 ps; • Six Scint (Kharkov)+MAPD-3N (Zecoteck) individual counters 20x20x20 mm3; • Amplifier with input impedance 4 Ohm, bandwidth 300 MHz and G~120 was used; • LeCroy TDC has scale 50 ps/ch. PMT1

  2. April beam test results & nearest plans Time resolution after slewing correction MAPDs were no selected before test and have different PDE! It was demonstrated that scintillator detector with MAPD-3N readout is promising for central TOF MAPD-3N (ZECOTECK) Gain vs Vbias PDE vs Vbias • Preselection of MAPDs with highest PDE; • Develop new faster preamp with lower noise; • Use of monoenergetic beam November `09 beam test at CERN
