  2. What you will learn! • How to display data in a histogram. • How to interpret data in a histogram.

  4. What you really need to know! A histogram uses bars to display data that have been organized into equal intervals. It is a special type of bar graph.

  5. What you really need to know! • There is no space between bars. • All bars have the same width.

  6. Example 1: The frequency table shows the number of overseas visitors to certain U.S. cities in 1999. Display the data in a histogram.

  8. Example 2: Use the histogram. How many states have highest points with elevations at least 3,751 meters? 12

  9. Example 2: Use the histogram. Is it possible to tell the height of the tallest point? NO! You can only tell it is between 5,001 and 6,250 meters.
