  2. SETTING AND CHARACTER Setting Characters The characters are: Ramona, Beezus, Mrs. Whaley, Yard Ape, mom, dad, Picky Picky, Willa Jean, Howie, Mr. Watts, Mrs. Kemp, and Mrs. Larson. If I were Ramona I would hate it. Being a girl, getting egg in your hair, and not getting along. • The settings are at school, at her house, and at a restraunt. • I noticed that each chapter was a different day.

  3. Ramona • Ramona is a girl. She has short hair. Her hair is brown, her eyes are black, and she has a long neck. She is a trouble maker. Ramona is in third grade. She likes cat food commercials. She also likes the boy Yard Ape.

  4. Author’s Purpose • Ramona's problem was that she couldn’t get along with any one. She tried to be nicer to her teacher and Willa Jean. The character learned that you can’t always be nice on the outside. I learned that you can get in trouble in a lot of ways and you can’t always get out of it.

  5. Book Recommendation • I would recommend this book to friends because it is long and it is funny! I liked it because it was by Beverly Cleary. If you like Junie B. then you would like Ramona. Ramona is a series. You can learn something in this book. This is a very good book. She gets in trouble a lot. I really understood this book.

  6. Connections • When she had to make corn bread when she got in trouble. I had to make corn bread when I got in trouble. TTS. When it was the first day of third grade I felt like she did when it was my first day. TTS. When they were playing tug of war. I’ve read a different book that they played tug of. TTT.

  7. Creating Images • I could taste the chicken. I could smell the corn bread. I could see her barf… which was gross. I could feel the couch and the cat.
