  2. Valley Middle & • People we’ve been working together for 15+ years • We stay at the Westin Arlington Gateway or Embassy Suites • Once in D.C. we travel on professional coaches • STA is a fully insured and reputable travel company

  3. Our Purpose • Provide a safe and fun environment for students to experience our Nation’s Capital. • Provide students with an extended learning opportunity outside of the classroom on a non-school affiliated trip.

  4. Last Summer • We took 70 8th graders from VMSS to Washington, D.C. • Some of the activities included seeing a Nationals Game at Nationals Park, visit and tour of the Capitol, placing of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns, visiting the Newseum, dinner theater as well as seeing all the memorable sites of Washington.

  5. This Summer • Trip dates are June 18th – 21st, 2020 • Students will visit the Holocaust Museum, some of the Smithsonian Institutes, Various memorials, The National Archives, the MLK monument, African American Museum and more…

  6. Costs • Total tour cost is $1,659.00 based on Quad Occupancy (not including charges that may incur through the airline - baggage fees) • Payment installments are accepted and encouraged

  7. Timelines October 31st: 1st Deposit due $99.00 (The optional $189.00 Payment Protection Program is also due) Payments are accepted throughout the year with the balance due 70 days prior to departure April 9th Final Payment is Due Student Meeting Dates April 2nd 7am April 23rd 7am May 21st 7am June 2nd: Student/Parent Final Meeting @ 6:30pm – 8:00pm June 18th-21st: Students are on Tour

  8. What the cost covers • Flights on scheduled airlines • Excellent hotel • Complete meals • All admissions • Wreath Ceremony • Deluxe sightseeing coaches with professional guides • Adult chaperones for every 20 students • Insurance coverage

  9. FAQ’s What if my husband/wife works for the airline, can my son/daughter fly standby and lower the cost of the trip? Who are the chaperones and as a parent am I able to be a chaperone? Are we providing any fundraising for your son or daughter? Does Valley Middle School provide any scholarships for this trip? What if my son/daughter for some reason or another is unable to go on the trip, can I get my money refunded? Is my son or daughter able to bring their cell phone on the trip?
