Our vision, missionstatement and values OUR VISION Rugby League will be the recognized number one sport in New South Wales MISSION STATEMENT The NSWRL Academy will provide our members and the Rugby League community with strong leadership, sound communication and clear strategic direction. We will facilitate the growth of Rugby League through quality services and innovative programs

Our Values Our Values Are: • Pride: We take pride in the Game, in our responsibilities as individuals and in Rugby League’s place in the community. • Innovation: We strive to maintain the best possible competitions and programs by embracing new ideas. • Opportunity: We offer all people the chance to reach their potential through education, encouragement, teamwork and discipline. • Decency: We act with integrity, honesty and in the true spirit of sportsmanship. • Community Spirit: We support the community by making a positive difference in people’s lives. • Inclusiveness: On the simple understanding that they respect these values, we offer a place in Rugby League for all people regardless of ethnicity, ability, gender and belief. • Respect : Act in a positive way that we respect ourselves , other people and other peoples property at all times

Our Core Goals for 2011-2013 By 2013 we will have … • A clear strategic plan embraced by our members and aligned to their strategic plans. • Increased participation by 3% per annum • A positive working relationship with CRL/NSWJLS/Clubs • Making a significant contribution to National Teams • Increased the number of active Referees by 5% per annum • Developed participation opportunities which extend the Sports reach into “summer” months. • A highly recognised brand throughout NSW • Maintained current strong net asset position.

Critical Success Factors Our Critical Success Factors are: • Growth in Participation • Continued success with our High Performance Programs and teams competing at a national level. • Budget- to be reflective of objectives • Employee-retention, satisfaction and professional development • Building of University, Government and School relationships. • Development of a database across NSW

Strategic Goals These are to be reviewed with operational plans • Governance & Leadership • To be recognised and acknowledged as a responsible, progressive and effective peak organistation, which acts in the best interests of our members and stakeholders and provides a clear strategic direction for the sport of Rugby League throughout NSW. • Community Programs • In collaboration with our members and other stakeholders implement sustainable programs of excellence which aims to optimise the participation and enjoyment of players, coaches, referees and volunteers at the grass roots of Rugby League throughout NSW. • To deliver professional and up to date coach education programs for players, spectators, coaches, officials and Referees • High Performance • To deliver professional, integrated and clear elite development pathways and programs for players and coaches throughout NSW. • Rugby League Development Operations • Professional management practices facilitating successful competitions, special events and best practices procedures within Junior Leagues, Clubs and Referees
