  1. TheGladiators A Gladiator was used for entertainment and slavery in the Roman areas. Some gladiators were fighting criminals or wild animals. It is estimated that the first Gladiator games started back in 246bc.

  2. Into The Fights Of TheColosseumOf Rome • The biggest and spectacular fights were held in the Colosseum • The Colosseum could seat 50,000 people • The spectators could buy tickets that showed their seat and which of the 80 entrances they should use.

  3. Trade For Gladiators • There were different types of gladiators The better they were, the more they would cost If you were a different religon,you would go into a different school

  4. More Info • When they finished eating, they would go into the vomit room after a big meal. • If the referee of the match puts his palm out flat it means spare his life if he shows his fist it means kill him

  5. Why YouWouldn’tWant To BeA Gladiator From the start, picture this:1st century A.D, Romans invade your beautiful village in Italy and you hate them, they hate you. They say that you will be in their territory for a long, long time. They think they are much better the you. So you decide to pick a fight with the Romans. You lose and get sent to prison with a 50/50 chance of being a gladiator.

  6. Why YouWouldn’tWant To BeA Gladiator • The Roman ruler of your village is low on entertainment, so they choose to pick you as one of the gladiators. So now, the day after you went to prison, your in a carriage on you way to your new home. When you get there, you are told that you are fighting in the arena tomorrow and you are to get up at 5:00am and get ready for the big day. You feel sick inside. You decide to have some food. And then you go to your new room and flop on the floor

  7. The Next Day… • You are up at just 5:00 and get ready for you day as a gladiator. The first thing you do is clean up the whole house. That took about 2 hours and it is time for your fight. You are all chained up in the carriage and ready to go. When you get there, you use a special entrance to get in.

  8. InThe Arena • You are taken out of the carriage and put in the arena. Your heart is thumping and ready to explode.' Gladiator one will be fighting a wild beast! Game on!’.So they lift up the chains of the big oak wood door and out comes the beast. • Well, you can picture the rest.
