  6. Logging In • Open your internet browser and enter the following web address: • https://services.alarmnet.com/TotalConnect • A link to the Total Connect login can also be found at: • http://www.alarmet.com/

  7. Welcome Page The Total Connect Welcome page will be displayed.

  8. My Profile From My Profile you can edit the main user and password information.

  9. Communication Alternatives Manage Users

  10. Manage Users page • From Manage Users you can add/edit/delete the secondary users. • Select “Add New User” to add more users. Note: There is no limit on the number of sub users that can be added.

  11. Add User • Enter the Required Information and click “Add User” at the bottom.

  12. Edit User • If adding the user is successful the following message will be displayed. • After clicking “OK”, the user edit screen will be displayed.

Edit User • Disable Login: • This option disables access via this user with out deleting the user. • Phones For SMS Control • Enter the phone numbers of any phones you want to be able to control the system with Short Message Service (text messaging). • Authority Level • This option is default enabled for Sub User.

Edit User – Features • Features: • Here you will select the features that are assigned to the sub user. • If no selectable features are added here, the sub user will have the following access: • Edit “My Profile” • “Remote Access” • “Configure SMS” for only that sub users wireless device • “Event History”

  15. Edit User – Authorize Devices • Select City and Central Station • Here you will authorize the device for this user to have access.

  16. Edit User – Saving Changes • When you are finished modifying the user • Select the “Update Information” button • A confirmation message will be displayed, click “OK” • You will then be returned to the edit user page. • Select the “Exit to Manage Users page” button

  17. Manage Users page • After Sub Users have been added, they will be displayed on the Manage Users page. • Click on the user name to edit the users profile

  19. Configure e-mail page • To configure e-mail notification click on the “Configure Email” button

  20. E-mail Notification • Enabling the Total Connect e-mail notification feature • It is a two part process. • You must program outputs in the control panel • Enter the event messages that will be sent for each output.

How a message is delivered… • There are three parts to a message • Event Text • Normal State • Activated State • Every message will contain “Event Text”. • For a message reflecting an arming, the content would be: • Activated State “Your security systemis Armed Away” • For a message reflecting a disarming, the content would be: • Normal State “Your security system is disarmed”

  22. Enabling/Disabling each Event Trigger • Each Event Trigger can be enabled or disabled individually. • This option allows the consumer to disable a specific event trigger without changing panel programming. • To disable the event trigger, click on the check mark in the column labeled “Enable”

  23. Enabling/Disabling each Event Trigger • Next, write a message for each output activation and deactivation. • Below you will find a list of example messages: • Email of events should not be relied on for alarm notifications or dispatching of police and fire.

  24. Enter Email Addresses – Up to 6 • Enter the email address or addresses this message is to be delivered to. • Up to six email addresses can be entered providing for a lot of flexibility.

  25. Sending Email to a Cell Phone • If the message is to be delivered to a cell phone via SMS text messaging you should enter an email address provided by the wireless carrier that will convert the email to a text message. • Below is a list of these address formats for common wireless carriers. • These address formats are subject to change by their providers. • Click here for a complete list of Email-to-SMS Text Addresses

  26. Email Subject and Saving Enter the Email Subject. This subject will be used for every email message triggered by the AlarmNet device. Finally, click the “Save” button at the bottom or top of the page. After saving, you will be notified with a popup. After acknowledging the popup, a confirmation will also be shown at the top of the screen.

SMS – Overview • The Configure SMS page allows you to create an easy name to call your AlarmNet device, and to individually enable SMS control by each wireless phone number associated to your profile. • If you have access to more than one Total Connect account with the same phone number, your device name must be different for each. Configuring the SMS page • Click “Configure SMS” to setup SMS control of the panel. • Enter the “SMS System Abbreviation Name” in the space provided. • This is a nick name that will be used each time you send an SMS command to your system. • The text in this field is NOT case sensitive. • “VH” has been entered for this example.

  30. Grant SMS Access • Under user phones • Click the check-box for each phone to be enabled for SMS control.

  31. Save and Complete • Then click “Save”. • You will see the following dialogue box. • Click “OK” to continue. • SMS Control is now configured and enabled for the phones selected. • For a list of available commands, text the word, “HELP” to ALARM (25276). You will receive three messages containing instructions and commands. • To control your security system with your cell phone via SMS messages, send a text message to “ALARM” (25276) using the formats listed in the next section. • The SMS message is NOT case sensitive.

  39. Event History – Select • The Event History page will allow you to see a history of the web page events and actions that have occurred over the past 30 days. • Every email event, as well as all SMS commands are stored in the Event History log. • To view the Event History, select the device and then click the “Select” button.

  40. Event History – Display • SMS Commands will be logged by the user’s Full Name (FN) and will show the action or attempted action. • Any event that does not show a user’s name next to it represents an email event that was triggered by the panel. • Events will be shown in the log, even if the event was disabled on the configure email screen. • Disabling the event only prevents the email from being sent.

Remote Access • “Remote Access” enables you access and control of your security system using an emulated keypad, or if setup for Full Control, you will have access to an enhanced graphic interface. • If the user is authorized to access more than one device. • Select the device from the drop down list. • Then click the “Launch Keypad” button

Accessing Remote Device • After Launching the Keypad, a new Java Window will open and you will be prompted for the Security system User Code. • Depending on how the account is set up will determine the type of Remote Access Interface. Note: The latest version of Java can be found at: www.java.com

  44. Remote Access – Full Control • If your system is enabled for Full Control and supports AUI Devices, your interface will be as displayed here.

  45. Setup – Overview • From here you can program: • Panel Info • Name Zones • Name Partitions • Name Devices • Recover

Setup – Name Zones • Select the zone description that you want to change by clicking the description. • Then type in the description you want to display. • When all changes are complete click “Save Zone Names” to save all changes. • Each zone description is limited to 24 characters and no commas Note: Any zone descriptions changed here will appear for Remote Access, and will not appear on the systems local keypads.

Setup – Name Partitions • Select the Partition Name that you want to change by clicking the name column box. • Type in the name. • You can also press the “Load Panel’s Partition Names” button, this will acquire the partition names from the panel. • When complete click “Save Partition Names”. • Each partition name is limited to 15 characters. Note: Any Partition Names typed here will appear for Remote Access, and will not appear on the systems local keypads.

Setup – Name Devices • Before you can access any of the panels device outputs you must enable them to be used by checking the “Use” box next to each device. • To enter the Device Name: • Select the name to be changed by clicking on it. • Type in the name you would like to be displayed. • Each zone description is limited to 24 characters. Note: Any Device Names typed here will appear for Remote Access, and will not appear on the systems local keypads.

  49. Setup – Recover • Should there ever be a need to delete all information, (except user data) saved in Remote Access, use the “Recover” option. • By entering a user number and clicking the “Delete” button, you will delete all entries that have been made with Remote Control. • Panel data will be retrieved on the next remote connection. Note: Deleting here does not affect the control panel programming or the local system keypad display.
