  2. Login • http://projects.kennesaw.edu/ • Click User Login

  3. Login • https://www.teamdynamix.com/KennesawTDNext/Login.aspx • Log in using KSU Net I.D. and Password

  4. Set Up - Applications • Click the Application drop down and select Projects from the drop down menu

  5. Set Up - Desktop • Click Projects tab and then Edit Project Desktop

  6. Set Up - Desktop • Click and drag modules to the columns as you see fit then save and close the pop-up.

  7. Creating a Project • From the Project tab, click new and select project to launch the project explorer

  8. Creating a Project • You must fill out each starred field in the General tab and save before advancing to other section. • All fields except time rate and template can be edited after initial save. • We will not be using TeamDynamix to track time.

  9. Creating a Project • For clarity of each field, click the dropdown arrow for a brief description.

  10. Creating a Project • For certain sections, you can use the ‘Look Up’ tool to find all available selections.

  11. Creating a Project - Goals • With each project, you should assign the applicable 2012-2017 Strategic Goals and Objectives for KSU on the Goals tab by first selecting the Add button

  12. Creating a Project - Goals • Then selecting the goal from the list and saving it (Must do for each individual goal) • Comments are optional and only show up in the project feed. Optional

  13. Creating a Project– Time Types • In order for team members to record actual time taken to complete tasks, you will have to add a Time Type to the project.

  14. Creating a Project – Adding Resources • To add resources to your project (must be completed to add resources to plan), click the Resources tab and then Add Resource

  15. Creating a Project – Adding Resources • Use ‘Name Like’ field to search for a specific user. Hit enter or select Search to populate the list.

  16. Creating a Project – Adding a Resource • Selecting the title cells will reorder list based off of that field. • To select resource, click on the add button

  17. Creating a Project – Adding a Resource • Schedule hours as needed, then select Save • The checkbox sends an email upon save

  18. Creating a Project - Feed • The Feed tab will list all updates and edits made to the project

  19. Creating a Project • When all edits are complete, close the Project Explorer to access more features of the project.

  20. Projects • To return to the Project Explorer, select the project title in the Projects module on your Projects Desktop (given that it was added to your desktop).

  21. Project Plans • Click Project tab at the top of the page • If the project has not beenpopulated, select theRefresh button within thetab, not the browser • Select the project • Click Plans to launch the Plan Manager

  22. Creating a Project Plan • Select New in the top left of the Plan Manager

  23. Creating a Project Plan • Fill in appropriate name and description and select creation method. • Select OK to create the plan.

  24. Creating a Project Plan • TD works similarly to MS Project or Excel • To insert tasks, click the empty Title cell and add a title. Select enter to access other cells and add new tasks in the same way

  25. Creating a Project Plan • To select start/end dates, double click the cell • Then manually enter the date or open the calendar by selecting the date button

  26. Creating a Project Plan • Resources are added by accessing the drop down list in the resource cell.

  27. Creating a Project Plan • While creating tasks, you may find that a single major task has multiple steps to accomplish it. To denote this, you can use the indent tool, found by right-clicking, to make many tasks fall under a single ‘parent’ task.

  29. Creating a Project Plan • The indent tool can be used multiple times to effectively organize your project. Indenting can be undone by using outdent.

  30. Creating a Project Plan • Right-clicking on a cell provides additional options to better organize and edit your plans. • WBS column providesassistance with aligningtasks while indenting and outdenting

  31. Updating Tasks on Plan • Select the % cell associated with the task • Enter correct completion percentage and hit enter

  32. Creating a Project Plan • To add more columns, right click on the a titlecell and select from thelist

  33. Editing a Project Plan • You can click and drag tasks to reorder them • Child tasks will move with parent tasks

  34. Editing a Project Plan • To shift a project plan’s dates, first be sure to have the plan checked out Should show the check mark

  36. Editing a Project Plan • Select the Shift button and then change the new start date accordingly

Baseline • The baseline feature of TeamDynamix allows project managers to view the differentiation between the originally expected time frame for a task to be completed as opposed to the actual work time. The baselined dates are available as additional columns labeled as “Base Start” and “Base End”.

  38. Baseline • To set a baseline, select the Baseline dropdown, and then “Set” the baseline (up to 10 per plan).

  39. Baseline • The plan will show the baseline dates in the Base Start/End column of the active baseline. Different baselines can be viewed by toggling the Active Baseline.

  41. Baseline • If you do not wish to baseline a task, you can toggle the setting on specific tasks under Baseline as well.

  42. Deleting a Project Plan • To delete a project plan, first be sure to have the plan checked out Should show the check mark

  43. Deleting a Project Plan • Next, click on Details • And then select the Delete button

  44. Project Plan • When all edits are complete, check the project back in and close the Plan Manager to access more features of the project.

  45. Project Templates • If you’ll have several projects working around the same plan outline, you can create a template to attach to the project (only available during initial creation). • This will automatically load all the template information into your project.

  47. Project Templates • Select your Templates tab • Click New Template to create a new template

  48. Project Templates • In the pop-up window, give the new template a name and a description (optional)

  49. Project Templates • The window will close after you select save. • The template will populate on the Templates tab, much like projects on the Projects tab
