  1. Sustainable rainforests Under your chair, there is a white board and pens... Please write in the centre the big question... How would I manage a Rainforest? Please write on any ideas that you have on how you would manage the Rainforests.

  2. starter Please use the information that you have (on the reverse and in your notes / booksto answer the questions on your problem solving sheet... Please look carefully at your marks.

  3. Learning Objectives All of you will understand the different challenges that the Rainforest faces from humans (C) Most of you will understand the challenges faced by different groups of people living with the Rainforest (B – A) Some of you will be able to provide a plan in which ideas are clear, elaborated and interlinked to save the Rainforest. Both the environmental and human needs are addressed (B – A*)

  4. Review: Please use your mark scheme to mark your partner’s work..don’t forget..2 stars and a wish!

  5. Task 1 Please watch carefully and make any notes that you think may help you.

  6. Review Take back out your whiteboards, and see if you can add / change anything so far... How would I manage a Rainforest?

  7. Task 2 On your table, you have a project designed for the economic development of rainforests... Please read the selection carefully, and use your matrix to look at the benefits, problems and sustainability of your project... Please add this to your matrix as per the example.

  9. Task 3 Now, please leave your seat, and find someone who has a different project to you... You have 5 minutes to peer teach – what have they found out, what have you found out? You are not allowed to peer with a person who has the same ASP target as you!! Remember.. This is a discussion.. If you disagree, fine! Debate, think about it, but always draw your own conclusion!

  14. Task 6 Its Blind Date!!!!!!! Now! Sam Smith has an important decision to make! Does he choose... Tom... Nicole... Or Sam St!!!!! Oh no! Sorry! I mean which of the development projects is he going to choose!!... The ‘contestants’ are going to paint the best possible picture of their project, and you have to quiz them, debate with them...Find out which project is the best, why and WHY NOT the others! Then its time to choose!!
