  13. Current Status • Cham people are hoping Champa will be reestablished • Cham is proud for never having assimilated to Vietnamese or Cambodian • The population of Cham: • 1800 (year) : 15,000 (people) • 1910 (year) : 45,000 (people) • 1970 (year) : close to a million
