  2. Some Basic Info • Current Population: 0 (Tribe became extinct in early 1800’s)

  3. Where Did They Live? • in areas next to the Susquehanna River from the southern part of what is now New York, through Pennsylvania, to the mouth of the Susquehanna in Maryland

  4. What Did They Wear? • They made clothes from deer skin and cloth. They also wore moccasins. They also wore head bands.

  5. Famous leaders • Hiawatha was a famous leader that brought five tribes together to form the five nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. • He was a peace maker, a leader, and a spiritual guide.

  6. Language Became extinct with the tribe in the Early 18th Century Very similar to the rest of the Iroquois Language Some Examples:

  7. Hunting Weapons They hunted with bows and arrows, war clubs,knives, and tomahawks.
