Role of Opto-RX12 • Data Rate : 1208 Optical data lines @ 800Mbps each = 1Tbps • Only 2% occupancy (useful data) • Opto-Rx12 Module : • Receives data from 12 optical lines • Implements Data Reduction Algorythms in an FPGA • Several Opto-Rx12 modules would be plugged into a VME-based readout system, which will send the reduced data (Events) to CMS DAQ.
