  1. Practical Reasons of Paradigm Choice • The focus of our research is on the process, implementation, and development of SAKG and values enforced through the program • SKAG focuses on individualized outcomes • Detailed information is required about the community, school, students and program • The focus is on diversity of choices and values exhibited by students • The aim is to understand the theory behind SKAG curriculum initiative, which is students and communities beliefs as to the nature of the theory/values they are tackling and how their actions will guide to desired outcomes

  2. Choice of Paradigm • The constructivist label was chosen for this paradigm because it is believed that knowledge is socially constructed by people active in the research process. It emphasizes that research is a product of the values of researchers and cannot be independent of them. • We will be employing an interactive and personal mode of data collection and aim to capture how healthy eating habits are introduced to students as early as in year 3 through curriculum initiatives and generalize it to a larger population and observe if students retain healthy eating habits beyond school and for life. • We will be focusing on students experiences and knowledge of healthy eating habits and argue the values introduced by the curriculum initiative still espoused or live within the community

  3. Methodology and Research Method • Qualitative methods such as interviews, observations, and document overviews will be employed • Investigate how students attribute to the activities within SAKG and how that is associated with their healthy eating habits/behavior • Aiming to construct facts about Values SAKG promotes through yr3-yr6 on the basis of interpretations of data with the help of the participants who will provide the data for the research study. • Research will be carried out through observation, formal and informal interviewing and develop statements that represent the beliefs of the students participate in the research • Qualitative method is chosen because it provides acceptable, valid, accurate information in order to measure the desired outcomes of SKAG

  4. Research Design • Literature reviews for primary research • Provide information about the backgrounds of the participants and socio economic factors surrounding their community and school • Identify research topic/question • Identify resources, personal networking, community members involvement • Conduct the research by using the research methodology and collect data; identify survey methods • Interpret data being collected through surveys, interviews and observation and synthesize the studies or case studies had previously been conducted about sustainable education and curriculum initiatives • Multiple data collection strategies will be employed, most of which is using qualitative methods. Qualitative approach allows the study Case study: The nature of the case Historical Background Physical setting Economic, political, legal factors Clinical Research: Investigate the relationship between SKAG- students and try to understand the values imposed within a clinical context. Interviews and participant observations, able to comprehend the multiple forces such as physical, behavioral, cultural, historical, social, economical and spiritual that influence the values within the community. Provides an additional avenue to break down the theory/hypothesis into ramifications, identify variables affecting the theory and develop relationship • Identify framework for the findings • Summarize the main findings • Evaluate the research report and do an assessment on weaknesses and strengths of the research and conclude the study
