  3. Humanism Definition: “This was a way of thinking that tried to balance religious beliefs with an emphasis on the individual and an interest in nature and human society.”

  4. Humanism Was a way of thinking…

  5. Humanism “Everyone here on earth has a place in society!” -Pope that tried to balance religious beliefs… “God made Adam and Eve” -Bible “You MUST follow what the Church tells you!” - Pope

  6. Humanism “I can teach!” With the belief in a person’s ability to be whatever & whoever they wanted to be “No matter who I am- I can be a doctor!”

  7. Humanism Humanists loved nature…

  8. Humanism And loved different cultures!

  9. Humanism Especially classical cultures!

  10. One of the first Humanists was a poet named: Francesco Petrarch

  11. Francesco Petrarch:Became known as the father of Italian Renaissance humanism

  12. Humanists came all over from Europe to Italy to study everything from art, architecture, history, poetry, grammar, etc of Greek and Roman times.

  13. They studied the past but also tried to improve on the things from the past
