  4. Unit 1 Review How long should main discussion posts and responses be? It’s important to meet these requirements so that all posts are substantive.

  5. Unit 1 Review What three things should you do if you can't make it to one of these live seminars?

  6. Unit 2 Reading • Presentation on netiquette • Various websites & searches about your profession • PowerPoint presentation on your specific program

  7. Certification & Licensure • Shows that we have enhanced our knowledge • What is the difference? • Certification • Granted by an org. after education & testing process • Licensure • Granted by government agency • Professional & legal recognition of a person who has met strict qualifications • Requirement to practice many professions

Benefits of Joining a Professional Organization • Access to newsletters & publications • Stay up-to-date on new research & developments • Newsletters often have job listings by location • Expand your professional network • Attend meetings & conferences • Raise awareness of your own business & receive advice

Unit 2 Assignment • Answer 10 questions about your profession based on your research in a Word document & submit to the dropbox by Tuesday. • Please upload as an attachment to the Dropbox, and only send Microsoft Word-compatible files (i.e., .doc, .docx., .rtf). Mac Pages or Microsoft Works files can’t be opened!
