Information Literacy : The Framework The definition An information literate person can recognise an information need and is able to apply the set of transferable skills, attitudes and behaviours needed to find, retrieve, assess, manage and apply information in any situation, throughout life. Information literacy supports individual and organisational learning, creativity and innovation and contributes to improved healthcare delivery through a continuously evolving, reliable information base.

What is the tutorial? • The tutorial demonstrates the ins and outs of the NHS e-Library and other popular resources such as the web • Each module takes about ten minutes to complete so the tutorial can be easily completed alongside regular tasks • You can complete the modules in any order and do as many or as few as you please

  16. How do I get started? Begin here with the IL Skills tutorials Work your way through the modules at a speed that suits you You can even go back later and pick up where you left off

  17. At the end of each module, you will be able to print a certificate of completion These could be used as evidence in KSF training
