K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Leadership Training Comes First • You can’t train and lead if you don’t know what works and the best implementation practices. • Attend District Training sessions • Learn about available programs/ activities • Learn how to run the recruiting programs • Check lists • Do’s and Don’ts • Be aware of Available assistance • Training aids, pamphlets, CD’s , • After action reports to improve for next time

K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Preparation and hard work • Now you have a plan and the organization • You need to ensure you are prepared • Review the check list • Are all needed tools and resources are available? • Do you have committed workers assigned? • Have potential problems have been identified and alternatives available if needed? • Has the needed training been completed or scheduled?

  8. K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Now your trained and ready to recruit • You have set your organization in place • You and your Council have identified what programs you will run and when. • You’ve made the plans and got commitment • You have trained your team to implement the plans • WHATS NEXT?

  9. K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Leadership IS THE KEY • Leadership is required • To use the organization as designed • To implement the plans • To motivate the membership • To identify and schedule needed training • To Support and reward your Teams • Nothing happens if the leadership is absent

K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Standardize your new candidate interviews to eliminate false expectations. • Make sure your interviewers • Know the subject matter • Use Technology • Customize the message to your council • Invite the spouse • Have both a one on one and group presentations canned • Take a newer brother along to watch the interview process

K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • Follow up to ensure a clean finish • Get the Candidates to their degree • Have your 1st degree Team ready • OR, Coordinate with other councils to ensure no delay • Publish your degree schedule in your District • Work with your DD to get the 2nd degree scheduled • Give the new Knights an assignment to get them active • Have an after action report submitted so any mistakes made are not repeated. Also to identify what went well

K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • What will we be doing to Help??? • Be on call for Region/ District/Council Training Sessions • Guest Speaker at Blitz or Other events • Help with technology and training aids • WEB Site Aids are in place • How To run an activity • Do’s and Don’ts • Alternative methods • New activity suggestions • THK monthly articles and updates • Conduct State Wide Recruiting Competitions

K of C Recruiting2013-2014 • You have a great product to sell • Salvation • It’s easier to be a good Catholic as a Knight surrounded by others doing good things for the right reasons • JUST ASK • Do not be Afraid your on the right Path • Share it with others by getting one new memberper council per month
