  3. ARRA Initiative • As of July 13th we had coded 630+ inspections coded as ARRA inspections • Regional and Local Emphasis Programs: • Road and highway • Bridge • Demolition • ARRA related

  4. ARRA Initiative • Regional and Local Emphasis Programs: • Green energy – wind mills, bio fuels, ethanol facilities • Manufacturing support industries

  5. The Enhanced Enforcement Program (EEP) becomes the Serious Violators Enforcement Program (SVEP) • Revising the program • New criteria • Focusing on fatalities and accident • Focusing on serious hazards and hazards identified in OSHA's NEPs • Mandatory follow-up inspections among other items

  6. FOM Update • Cleaned-Up version with Index, Expected issuance date is early July 2009 • Change 1, some parts will need to go out on FORM 201. The expected issuance date is November 2009.

  7. Construction • Cranes • The post-hearing record closed Thursday, June 18, 2009 • Comments and information from the record are being analyzed

  8. Construction • Confined Spaces • The record closed Oct. 23, 2008 • Comments and information in the record are being analyzed • The explanation of the rule (preamble) is being drafted • Almost all of the Standards Office's resources is devoted to finalizing the cranes and derricks standard.
