  2. Update Your Webpage • Accessing NovaWeb • “W” Drive (when you are on NVCC network, logged in) • \\novaweb\home\username • FTP (not on NVCC network, ex. home) • Get an ftp client or use DOS • More instructions found here. http://www.nvcc.edu/ithd/fftpsettings.html

Update Your Webpage • WYSIWYG • 3 Clients- • Microsoft FrontPage (Supported and installed on all machines) • Macromedia DreamWeaver (unsupported but taught at TAC) (Free trial version available) • Adobe GoLive – My Personal Preference • NotePad (it works if you are at home and need a quick grammar fix)

  5. How to u/l a file using FP & W: a. Move file(s) to w: drive. (Keep organized)

  6. How to u/l a file using FP & W: b. Rename file with no spaces, use _ instead. (KISS)

  7. How to u/l a file using FP & W: c. Launch FrontPage (via shortcut on desktop or Start->Programs->FrontPage)

  8. How to u/l a file using FP & W: d. Open the page that needs to be edited from with in FP. (W:\index.htm)

  9. How to u/l a file using FP & W: e. Type in the name of the file you want the student to download on the webpage in FP.

  10. How to u/l a file using FP & W: f. HIGHLIGHT (select) the text that you just typed.

  11. How to u/l a file using FP & W: g. Insert Hyperlink. (3 ways of doing this, I prefer the world icon on the tool bar; 2nd is the insert->hyperlink; 3rd is right-click, hyperlink) 1. 2. 3.

  12. How to u/l a file using FP & W: h. Select the correct file on your W drive, then OK. Highlighted text is nowHypertext (green & underlined)

  14. How to u/l a file using FP & W: j. Validate webpage in a web browser, make sure link doesn’t say a:\ or c:\ or h:\, it should say http://www.nvcc.edu/home/etc.
