Then there are those conditions that could be regarded as in-between, conditions that will not lead to serious medical problems, but they may cause a person discomfort in some way or another. Think of acne, think of other skin blemishes or a receding hairline. These are examples of those issues that will not threaten your life but they will interfere with your self-confidence and enjoyment of life in general. There are many examples, and very often all it takes is corrective surgery of sorts by an experienced medical professional such as a specialist doctor, for instance the plastic surgeon that can perform certain operations and procedures to alleviate your problems and stresses. Eye specialists, for example, are those medically trained doctors that can do what the GP does, but they go for further and receive specialist education in their field and become specialists. Eye specialists, for example, are those that work as ophthalmologists, specialist eye doctors that concentrate their skills on the eyes: they diagnose eye disease, they prescribe meds – and they can perform eye operations to repair sight. Some of them may decide to branch out into other specialities such as reconstructive or plastic surgery to repair a patient’s face after an accident where they concentrate on the areas around the eyes specifically – or they may take up cosmetic surgery which is that field of expertise that looks at

  2. operations and procedures to help patients look better, more attractive – more beautiful if you would. This area of expertise is concentrated not on purely medical results, but rather to improve a person’s appearance to be more attractive to others. It is not done for medical or functional reasons. The good eye specialist, therefore, offers varied services, and those that stand out above others, often offer a good few years as top professionals with knowledge, experience and expertise that patients turn to immediately when they need help with either a medical eye condition – or one for pure aesthetic reasons. There are many reasons why a person would approach an eye specialist for an operation, in addition to those that are required to correct failing eyesight where possible, or those that rely on medical intervention for serious cases of eye disease. A good example is the patient that approaches a specialist doctor when they suffer from, for instance, Bell’s Palsy, which is that condition that refers to facial paralysis that can cause muscular weakness in the nerves on one side of the face. It is not life threatening but may cause great distress for the patient. Sometimes it repairs itself – in many cases not, and intervention becomes necessary. One person that can assist is a specialist doctor that performs plastic and aesthetic operations and procedures to patients’ faces to help repair the situation. Symptoms of Bell’s Palsy and similar conditions that lead to partial – or more serious – facial paralysis include, for example, permanent twitching of the face, drooping of the face and eyelids, and drooling, for example – all because the muscles no longer function properly. A good surgeon with experience can assist by offering corrective surgery to the face and/or eye area. He/she will offer a proper consultation and then advise how to proceed and tell the patient whether certain exercises, such as for milder cases, will suffice – or whether an operation is recommended. It is important to speak to an experienced surgeon in this instance, one that comes with experience and a good name as they are the best at handling procedures to reverse the effects on the face of Bells’ Palsy. One finds these doctors in bigger city centres such as, say, New York, London and other world cities. Their services are normally sought after since they are leaders in their field whether you need them to assist with facial paralysis,
