  2. Daily Schedule BELL RINGER: • What are the advantages of using solar energy as an alternative energy? • On Your Table: • Interactive Notebook/Solar Lab Packet • Reading Essentials Book • Pencil • Agenda (Textbooks stay at home.)

  3. In Class Assignments and Homework All in-class assignments and homework will be completed in the interactive notebook or lab packet. The interactive notebook/lab packet will usually be collected once a week to be graded. If a student does not have their interactive notebook they can still participate by completing the assignment on a piece of lined paper and rewriting, taping, or gluing the paper in that evening for homework. Grades are posted to Q.

  8. Sly Park • May 27th – 30th(Tuesday through Friday) • White handout has information • Green handout due before September 27th • Bingo Fundraising $75 per session.   9. When A Student is Absent…. • Get Bell Ringer Question from a student or teacher’s notebook. • Check Teacher’s Interactive Notebook to see what you missed • Talk to Mrs. Jennings • Schedule appointment before or after school (any day except Thursday)

  10. Grades • Grades will be determined by averaging scores for all quizzes, homework, class work, participation, and tests. • Printed grade reports will be given after each test. • Students will be assessed in multiple ways, including the following: homework, class work, projects, tests, quizzes and labs • Grades will be assigned using the following percentages • A, 90-100% • B: 80-89% • C: 70-79% • D: 60-69% • F: 0-60%

  11. Late Work • Assignments are due when called for by the teacher. • Assignments turned in late will automatically lose 25 %. • Absent work will receive full credit.

  12. Classroom Behavior Expectations • Punctual –Be at your desk and working when the bell rings. • Prepared –Bring appropriate materials and be ready to learn. • Polite –Be respectful of peers, staff, and campus. • Productive – Follow directions the first time. • Observe all rules in the student handbook.

  13. Rewards • Stamp on completed work • Pawsitive Paws • Praise • Group points • Preferred Activity Time

  14. If Students Choose to Break a Rule… • 1st Time: Warning • 2nd Time: 30 seconds after class • 3rd Time: 1 minute after class • 4th Time: Lunch detention or Pitch In • 5th Time: Buddy Room • 6th Time: Referral to administration for consequence

Agenda • Important events are listed on the calendar pages of your child’s agenda. • Parent Conferences: • Minimum Days • Held the Wednesday after progress notices are sent home: September 19th, November 28th, February 13th, and May 8th. • Located in MP room • No schedule given – teachers are available between 12 and 2. • Attend only if you would like to meet with a teacher
