  1. 6th Grade Science • 6th Grade Science Topics (PA State Standards & TE Essential Skills) • Books (Class copy and online text book) • Earth’s Waters • Cells and Heredity • Plants and Bacteria • Astronomy • Website: http://www.tesd.net/Page/2781 • Weekly Objectives and HW, online text book • Power Point Notes, Daily PPT, NB checks, study guides, additional information • Classroom: • Rules/Procedures/Grading/Science Stars • Science Notebook • Order of class: • Materials, Attendance, Activities, HW (HW is recorded in assignment books and stamped). • Learning Goals/Thinking Skills, Relevance • Review previous day’s material. • At the close of class we review/end with questions.

  2. 6th Grade Science • Science • Active Reading together (notebook), complete activities together, answer questions discuss topics together, work is collected and graded. • There is also time to process and to think/reflect on concepts. • Guided notes and reinforcement activities. (Packets containing vocabulary and notes-sample on tables). • Power Point is used to guide note taking. (PPT is available on website). • Labs are completed in class • Quizzes come from notes and class sheets. • Study guides given for quizzes. (5 days in before quiz) • Students may take requizzes. Scores are averaged together. • Science Extension-opportunities to apply science to help our world. • Absent: • Students shouldsee me for what they missed. Labs are typically excused but packet work can be made up.
