  3. Fear • Freedom taken away • No respect • Insecurity • Lack of food (constant hunger) • Hopelessness Life in the refugee camp

Apply for Refugee status • Tell your life story to UNHCR • After accepted, wait for a country opening • Interview with country’s government (U.S.=INS) • If accepted, must pass medical exam • International Organization for Migration arranges travel Resettlement Through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
