  7. Collection 2007 The 2007 collection consists of several themes and offers complementary lines, ranging from hip and fashionable items to the more sophisticated timeless pieces. Other new materials are added to pearls such as white ceramic, rubber, rose gold and black plating, iridescent and stingray type leather amongst other. The unconventional spirit of the brand also marries chic pearls with rock’n roll by proposing unseen and playful usage of jewellery: rocker bracelet revisited with mabe pearl spikes and iridescent leather, water-resistant watch mixing black rubber and glamorous rose plating, pearl and gold trilogy ring also wearable as a pendant… The new collection is thus divided in 3 main themes: • PULP: Creative and trendy jewellery mainly inspired from Glam Rock with bronze and shimmering tones. • PURE: Timeless pieces with pure shapes and chic basics. • PRECIOUS: Sophisticated jewels and more elaborated designs.

  8. Summer collection 2007 The new summer 2007 Misaki collection is inspired by the Modern Boudoir spirit. In line with the new romantic trend, the collection plays with a boudoir feeling modernized to fit today’s fashion. The trendy women of this summer will be both sensual and modern. Sensuality is symbolized by lingerie touches (bows, lace, corset…) while her modernity shows in design details (engravings, faceted ball chains, signet ring…) Colours and materials underline feminity: Tones are in pink shades (coral, burgundy, purple, violet…) and materials suggest softness (satin, resin, leather, mother of pearl, pink and yellow gold plating…).

  9. Natural and Cultured pearls Natural pearls Natural pearls are formed when a foreign object has made its way into the mollusk’s shell. The mollusk secretes nacre, a lustrous substance that coats the intruding object. As thousands of layers of nacre coat the intruder, a pearl is formed; this process takes up to seven or eight years. Cultured pearls Cultured pearls are produced by oysters that have been surgically injected (nucleated) with a natural quartz nucleus. The oyster will produce around it layers of mother of pearl and will make a pearl in only 2 years. Misaki offers different varieties of Cultured Pearls called Akoya Pearls and Fresh Water Pearls. The Akoya Oyster is found mainly in the shallow waters off the coast in Japan. Fresh Water Pearls are produced by the Unio Margaretafera Oyster or bi-valve mollusk, and are found in fresh water lakes and rivers.

  10. X-treme lustre pearls X-treme Lustre pearls Misaki has created the new pearl standard with our patented X-treme Lustre pearls. Through SHL technology, we have created an extraordinary lustre, which is superior to the shine of natural pearls. By layering a natural quartz nucleus with iridescent synthesised mother-of-pearl, Misaki has created a new gem with everlasting shine that is stunning against bare skin. Pearl shape Symmetrical, round pearls tend to be the most valuable but off-round and oval are also very common. More unusual shapes are used to complement specific designs: Mabe (also Blister) Large hemispherical cultured pearls grown against the inside shells of oysters instead of within the body. Baroque Pearls of irregular and asymmetrical shape. Keshi Baroque flat pearls, which form naturally in many cultured pearl oysters.

  11. Misaki materials Misaki uses 3 different kinds of base metal (all nickel-free and therefore non-allergen): · Sterling silver: it is a precious metal but naturally tarnishes after exposure to air (recognized thanks to the “925” hallmark) · Stainless steel: it is a metal that does not stain, corrode or rust and is slightly lighter than silver. · Non precious metal such as brass. All Misaki jewellery are plated (coated with another metal) to color and protects the metal from tarnishing due to chemicals, water, skin oils… · Rhodium, a precious white metal, is used to give the jewellery a white colour. · 18 karat gold is used to give the jewellery a yellow colour. · Gunplating, is an alloy used to give the jewellery a black colour. · Rose gold plating is used to give the jewellery a pink colour. Misaki jewellery uses several kinds of stones: · Crystals: high-quality glass containing at least 10% lead oxide and producing very clear glass resembling rock crystal. · Cubic Zirconia: diamond stimulant being hard and optically flawless. Other materials are used on Misaki designs such as enamel (glassy substance fused onto metal using heat), mother-of-pearl (iridescent coating on the inside of oyster shells), Murano glass (Italian hand made glass with reflection effects created by mixing it with powdered gold or silver)...

  12. How to read the Misaki product reference ? 1st letter = Box type. Q = boxes for products sold on domestic market and M = boxes for products sold on Airline market. 2nd + 3rd letters = Pearl type. CR= X-treme Lustre pearl and CU = Cultured pearl. 4th letter = Jewellery type. N = necklace; P = pendant; B = bracelet; E = earrings; C = clip earrings; R = ring; W = watch; A = mobile chain. All remaining letters are the product name. Ex: ref.: QCRNLIGURIA is the reference of the Liguria Necklace. This necklace is made of X-treme Lustre pearls and is sold in a “domestic market” box.

  13. How to advice customer in product care ? · Misaki Jewellery should be stored in its original Misaki box or a velvet pouch in a dry environment. · Although Misaki uses precious metals like sterling silver, gold and rhodium plated, metal parts can be affected by exposure to excess heat and humidity or other harmful, external elements. · Customers should also be aware that contact with perfume or lacquer sprays, perspiration, detergents and other harmful substances could be detrimental to pearls and jewellery. · Misaki jewellery should be worn as a finishing touch, after using perfume or hair spray. · An occasional polish with a soft cloth will help maintain the original lustrous finish of both pearls and plating. · In order to preserve the natural beauty of pearls and the shape of the jewellery, restringing pearls once a year is recommended.

  14. What kind of defect is covered by the Misaki guarantee ? · Misaki jewellery and watches are backed by a two-year International Guarantee. This guarantee covers the free repair or replacement of any pearl, strap or mechanical part, which shows a manufacturing defect (ex: unglued pearl, defective clasp, broken string, oxidant metal, defective watch movement...). · The guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear including abuse of the product. · Defect due to abuse of the product (scratched metal parts, pearls yellowed by corrosive products…) are not covered by the Misaki guarantee. · In order to be validated, the guarantee card found in the box should be filled in and stamped by the vendor.

  19. Merchandising recommandations To elaborate an attractive display presentation, please follow the necessary steps: 1° Product selection: For each display to be decorated, select an assortment of jewellery that matches together in terms of : • Product style : creative and trendy products; timeless jewellery and basics; sophisticated and more elaborated designs. • Metal colour: Most of Misaki jewellery is available in rhodium and yellow gold plating and, introduced in the 2007 collection, black and rose gold plating. • Pearl colour: Many pearl colours are available in Misaki’s collection but most of the products can be grouped in colour shades such as white, black, pink/mauve, bronze/champagne. The pictures illustrating the merchandising recommendations are realized with jewellery from the latest Misaki collection to show different options of matching product selection.

  20. Merchandising recommandations 2° Product enhancement: • Each type of jewellery should be arranged on the appropriate stand according to size and shape. • Arrange necklaces and bracelets in a nice round shape. If they are twisted, try pulling gently on both ends to smooth it. • Watch hands must always be at 10:10. 3° Visual organization of the display: • Stands layout has to be balanced in the display to offer an attractive general view. • The size and number of stands should be roughly equivalent on all shelves whereas larger stands should be on the lower shelves. • For a clear view, stands have to be organized in staggered rows and not in front of each other. The pictures illustrating the merchandising recommendations are realized with jewellery from the latest Misaki collection to show different options of matching product selection.

  21. Merchandising recommandations 4° Layout of each shelf: • Busts (for necklace and pendant) should be laid out first on the shelves alternating one in the middle and two on the sides. Then the smaller stands (for ring, watch…) can be added around the busts. • Types and sizes of busts should be mixed to have a more dynamic presentation. • Control the number of products and never use all the available space. The pictures illustrating the merchandising recommendations are realized with jewellery from the latest Misaki collection to show different options of matching product selection.

  22. Merchandising recommandations 5° Finishing touches: • Make sure all the spots are correctly oriented: not directly on the item (this can burn the pearl and no visibility) but in a way to highlight the item. • Windows and shelves should always be clean from dust and finger marks. • Do not hesitate to use up to date Misakis visual aids such as showcards or posters but do not put too many of them on a small space. One per counter is enough. • Always make sure to have the Misaki leaflet holder on your counter filled with appropriate documents. The pictures illustrating the merchandising recommendations are realized with jewellery from the latest Misaki collection to show different options of matching product selection.

  23. Merchandising dont’s • Jewellery with different plating colour should not be mixed on the same shelf. • Several busts should not be aligned in a row: a maximum of two busts can be used on a shelf of the size of the Window Display Unit. Other stands type (ring, earrings, bracelet…) can be presented to offer a more dynamic presentation. • Always make sure that the busts do not hide a visual behind it.

  24. Merchandising dont’s • Stands disposition should be balanced: - a large stand on one side and smaller ones next to it; - a large stand in the middle and smaller ones on the side; - two large stands on the sides and smaller ones in the middle. • Several necklace or pendants should not be displayed on the same bust. • Stand size should be adapted to jewellery: small pendants on small busts, medium pendants and small necklaces on medium busts, large necklaces and sautoir on large busts. • Jewellery should not be displayed in boxes: they are enhanced when arranged on an appropriate stand.

  25. Merchandising dont’s • Stands should not be facing each other: they should be displayed facing the customer and straight on the shelf. • Jewellery should not be displayed directly on the shelf. If not on a stand, they can be arranged on Misaki acrylic squares. • Window Display Unit side shelves should always be parallel to the centre one. Other recommendations : • Fabric and other decorative elements (flowers, figurines, crystals...) should be avoided unless provided by Misaki. Simple presentation is recommended. • Price or brand tags should not be visible.

  30. Sales recommandations • Sales team must be in the most suitable and refined appearance in order to perfectly represent the brand; • Always propose another product to match with the one chosen by the client: jewellery product is better enhanced with another suitable one; • Advices and attention to the client are the best way to make additional sales; • Displays must be changed regularly in order to attract clients as often as possible; • Displays and Misaki corner have to be cleaned every day; • Too many products displayed are not attractive and jewellery products are not enhanced (clients cannot see them well)
