B.EngTech (Hons) Supply Chain Management. • Why we need SCM? • To manage risks – help companies manage complex risks involved in a supply chain, everything from cost to health and safety issues • To manage relationships (networking) – coordinate numerous relationships in the supply chain and help managers focus on the most important company-to-company relationships. Ex. GM and ALCAN • To ensure the optimum operational flow – help managers address the many trade-offs in the supply chain. Some trade-offs can be a source of conflict within a company. As such, SCM helps manage the competing interests of various functional areas within a company. Ex. IBM and FEDEX

B.EngTech (Hons) Business Management. • What is difference between B.EngTech (Hons) in Supply Chain Management (SCM) compare to B.EngTech in Business Management (EBM) in UniKL IPROM? • The difference are basically in terms of subjects offered and focus. • EBM has got technical/engineering subjects such as CAD/CAM/CNC and Engineering Workshop Practice • EBM is more focus towards managing engineering related business while SCM focuses towards managing the entire value chain of logistic and supply chain operation.
