  4. Criteria # of positions Time Standards Combo of 500 + 1500M Times Female is 3:39 Junior B Male is 3:25 Junior A Male and Neo Senior is 3:20 • Max. of 32 for Junior B • Max. of 24 for Junior A and Neo Senior • # of provincial positions based on National rankings

  5. 3000M Points Race • Final Individual Event • 8 on the line • Criterium Style – Points awarded at 20 laps to go , 13 to go, 6 to go, and Double points for placement at line • Lapped Skaters to Centre and receive 0 points • Top points win • Tie will be broken by final place position

  10. Last Note: Going forward there will be obstacles as we make changes to our competition and practice structure. I am sure we will find that a gradual approach is much better than a hurried one. We must support our committees, coaches and meet coordinators throughout these changes. The easy road would be to follow a traditional format in which we ensure a smoothly run practice and/or competition but we would not be properly preparing the athlete for the changes ahead to the Regional and National Formats.
