  1. Mrs. Davis’ Class Procedures

  2. Entering the Classroom • Shake hands at the door. • Sharpen your pencil. Have all supplies. • Begin bellwork. • Read your book quietly.

  3. Sharpening your Pencil • Do this before class starts as you enter the room. • Sharpen only one pencil at a time. • Do not sharpen pencils while I am talking to the class.

  4. Quieting the Class • Mrs. Davis will clap her hands. • You will clap the same rhythm. • Stop. Be still. Be quiet. Look. Listen for important information.

  5. Assignments • When you are ready to turn this in, place it in your class period tray to the left of the pink lamp. • Homework is rare. If you do not finish an assignment in class, it must be finished and turned in by the beginning of the next class day.

  6. Absence/Late Work • Absence Work – Always check the “What I Missed Wall” and look for handouts. See me for instructions. Turn this in to the tray to the right of the pink lamp. This is YOUR job. • Late Work-Take care of this immediately! Turn in to the tray to the right of the pink lamp. Late work receives a 20 point deduction.

  7. Paper Heading • All papers must have the correct heading at the top or 5 points will be deducted. • First/Last name on left. Class period on right. Tracy Davis 1st Per.

  8. Phone/Door/Lights • The person on the last row, chair closest to the phone may answer. • The person on the front row, nearest the door may answer a knock. • The last person out the door will turn off the lights and close door.

  9. Restroom • Restroom breaks are allowed only during independent practice time, the last 5 minutes. • Restroom breaks are at Mrs. Davis’ discretion. • Do not interrupt me during a lesson to ask for the restroom unless you are ill. • Pick up the appropriate restroom pass and sign out. Take care of your business quickly and return to class. Sign in and return pass.

  10. Going to Lunch • Mrs. Davis will tell you when it is time to line up. • Line up across the front of the room in a single file line. • Walk to the cafeteria on the right-hand side of the hall.

  11. Grading Papers • Use a colored pen to grade. • Mark an X if wrong, nothing if correct. • Do NOT correct for them!! • Put a minus (-) sign, then the number incorrect at top • Hand back, then check your own paper for any mistakes in grading.

  12. Corrections • You may correct any failing assignment. • Show work with corrected answer on back or on a clean sheet stapled to original paper. • Turn in to the tray on the shelf by the pink lamp.

  13. Working with Whiteboards • Only write what instructed to write. • No doodling, writing notes, etc. • The cloths are your erasers. Please do not write or draw on them. • Use a light touch. Pressing down on the markers ruins them.

  14. Leaving at the end of Class • Mrs. Davis will dismiss you at the appropriate time. • You will be dismissed only if you are in your seat, quiet and desk area is tidy. • The bell does not dismiss you--I DO!
