Strategic Plan 2010-2020 • Objectives: • To create and maintain active cooperation with the EU institutions, actively becoming involved in the international university organizations • To create joint study programmes on a European and Baltic level • To participate actively in Erasmus Mundusand other student exchange programmes, ensuring the recognition of studies abroad • To promote the engagement of UL researchers in post-doctoral studies in foreign universities and research centres, as well as to promote their return to Latvia, ensuring favourable conditions upon their return to the UL • To ensure high quality of studies for the exchange students and to achieve effective cooperation between faculties and departments http://www.lu.lv http://www.bsrun.org

Elements of the Internationalization Policy • Mobility of students and lecturers with the aim to improve the quality of studies, renew and improve the qualification of personnel • Participation in the international academic and professional organizations • To improve knowledge of personnel in the languages of EU member states, by developing courses in foreign languages • To invite foreign experts • Establishment of international centres • Exports of education and attraction of foreign students • Inclusion of foreign experts in the promotional and doctoral study councils • Active participation in the international scientific and education exhibitions http://www.lu.lv http://www.bsrun.org
