  3. Job Description • Veterinarians or doctors of veterinary medicine diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries of pets, and farm animals, such as cattle or sheep: The veterinarian examines the animal to determine nature of disease or injury and treats the animal surgically or medically.

  4. Job Qualifications • Do your work with enthusiasm and dedication. If you can't get a job working with animals, offer your services as a volunteer. Contact local veterinarians, express your interest in becoming a veterinarian, and ask if you can shadow them for a day as they perform their duties. • Veterinarian training is a long process, but it can lead to a rewarding career in veterinary medicine.
