The Family • The host family of Claudine consists of four people; two parents, one girl of 15 years and one boy of 17 years. • The host family of Wing Yee also consists of four people; two parents, one girl of 15 years and one girl of 17 years.
The Decoration of the home of the family of Claudine • The family lives in an appartment above a restaurant, it is decorated with all sorts of things, like bottles of alcohol, and lots of photographs. • There are also paintings which were painted by their grandmother. • They have one big closet in which many things stand, like photographs and little sculptures.
The Decoration of the home of the family of Wing Yee • They live in a free standing house and it is decorated with photos, drawings of the childeren when they were small. • They also have many plush animals. • The decoration of the house has many colours.
The dailyrhythmof the familyofClaudine • The parentsand the boy are upearlyin the morning. Thegirland I getupat 7.20 am. • Then the girlhas a shower, and I getready for school. • The boyleaves. • Afterthistherestofushavebreakfast. • Around 8 am the fatherandsometimes the motherbringsus to schoolwith the car. • Afterschoolwegohomeorwe do somethingwithfriends. • Weeatdinneraround 9 pm. • I go to bedbetween 10 pmand 11 pm. The restof the familygoes to bedlater.
The dailyrhythmof the familyofWingYee • We get up at 7.15 am, and then we have breakfast. • After that we are going by foot to school. • After school we go home and she makes homework. • Around 8 pm we have dinner. • And then around 11 pm we go to bed.
The spaceof the familyofClaudine • The appartment is not very big. It is divided in five rooms. • There are three bedrooms. Here you can sit in privacy. • There is one bathroom. • And there is one room which is the living room, the kitchen and the dining room. Here we can sit together. • There is also a hallway.
The spaceof the familyofWingYee • The house is divided in 3 sections: • the ground floor is the place where you can sit together. There is a living room, a dining room, bathroom and a kitchen. • On the first floor the parents sleep and there is also a bathroom for them. • The second floor is for the two girls, they have their own bathroom, a bedroom where they sleep together and a guest room. • I think the two girls do have much privacy.
The housekeepingof the familyofClaudine • Most of the housekeeping is done by the mother. She cooks, does the dishes, does the laundry and she cleans. She makes the table before eating breakfast and dinner. She also cleans the table. • The children have to do some small things, like helping here if she needs something and they clean the table after dinner. • The father also helps in the housekeeping.
The housekeepingof the familyofWingYee • They have a person, who cleans for them. She does a lot. • But things like setting and cleaning the table she doesn´t do. The mother does these things. • She also does the laundry and puts the tableware in the dishwasher. • The children also do little things like walking with the dog.
