  7. When can I take classes? • Mornings, afternoon or evening • Weekends • On-line - Some meet only once – beginning of semester - Some meet once a month • TV Most classes are: Mon./Wed., Tues./Thurs., Fri/Sat. or meet once a week

  8. How many classes should I take? Note: The majority of A.A/G.E./Transfer courses are 3 units. Full-time student ..........  take at least 12 units Athletic eligibility ..........  take at least 12 units

  9. HOW LONG will it take to finish college? It depends on: • Your goal or degree objective • Are attending full-time or part-time • How much you work • In general, if you wish to complete • two years of college (60 units) in: •        2 years - take an average of 15 units each semester       3 years - take an average of 10 units each semester

  10. Weekly Study Requirement... Part-time students 7 Units = 7 hrs. of class Studying = 14 hrs. Working = 40 hours (full-time) Total = 61 hours Full-time students 12 Units = 12 hrs. of class Studying = 24 - 30 hrs. Working = 20 hrs. (part-time) Total = 56 – 60 hours

  28. Academic Calendar 2011-2012 Fall 2011 August 22 Instruction Begins September 5 Last day to add and to drop full-term classes without “W” grade with enrollment fee refund for full semester. November 13 Last Day to Drop with “W” for full semester. December 11 Instruction Ends

College Tuition and Fees • Regular Students (Per Semester) • Enrollment $36 per unit • Health Fees $17 per semester • Student Services Fees $7.50 (optional) • Parking Fees $30 per semester • $20 if you are qualified for fee waiver. • Part-time student (6 units) $216 • Full-time student (12-15 units) $432- $540 • International & AB540 students Note:All fees and tuition are subject to changes based on State Legislator or Community College Governing Board.

Financial Aid Basics • It consists of grants, work study, and loans. • To apply, you must complete the FAFSA. • (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). • Who can apply for Financial Aid? • Students must be legal U.S. residents to apply for Financial Aid • Undocumented students or students on foreign visas are not eligible for federal or state Financial Aid programs.

  37. Fees/Payment Policy(Payment & ID cards: Cashiers Office, Admissions Building) Payment Deadline: Early Decision Students: The last day to pay is June 23. Returning Students & Other New Students: Fees must be paid within 3 calendar days of registering for courses or you will be dropped for nonpayment.
