    1. 2003 Recruitment Resolutions National Panhellenic Conference

    2. 2003 Recruitment Resolutions What changes will be created? How will the changes be implemented? What will be the best practices for the changes?

    3. Four Recruitment Styles BEFORE The preferred style of recruitment has been a Formal Recruitment with rounds & events concentrated in a period of time, followed by COB as needed. AFTER Upon consultation with the Greek Advisor and approval of the NPC Area Advisor, a CPH may vote to adopt a method appropriate for their campus from 4 recruitment styles: Continuous Open Minimally Structured Partially Structured Fully Structured

    4. Limited Application of Bid Matching BEFORE Bid Matching is a component of the Preferential Bidding System. Bid Matching provides excellent results during Fully Structured Recruitment. Bid Matching may not be successful for all recruitment styles. AFTER Bid Matching is not always applicable to Partially Structured, Minimally Structured, nor Continuous Open Recruitment and in such situations need not be used.

    5. “No Frills” Recruitment Concept BEFORE Since 1991 NPC has strongly encouraged concept of “No Frills” formal recruitment. AFTER Concept of “No Frills” should be used in all forms, models or styles of recruitment

    6. Positive Panhellenic Contact BEFORE NPC advocated strict silence between Preference round and the issuing of bids. Some CPH have expanded this. AFTER All APHs & CPHs will promote & encourage personal & informative Panhellenic-spirited contact with potential new members at all times, year round except for the few hours between Preference round & issuing bids to membership.

    7. Annual Review to Determine Total BEFORE Total is the allowable chapter size as determined by CPHs and includes newly pledged and initiated members. Total is determined by evaluating size of chapters, availability of potential new members & current enrollment trends. Once set, Total remains constant. Reevaluation is desirable when all chapters exceed or no chapter has achieved Total in several years. AFTER CPH reviews Total annually. If it is determined that Total should be revised after consulting the NPC Area Advisor, Total can be determined by: Average chapter size, rounded down to nearest whole number Median chapter size Largest chapter size Size required for chapters to meet housing obligations

    8. Elimination of Quota Setting Methods I & II BEFORE Quota is set by vote of the CPH & is determined by one or two suggested methods as explained in the Manual of Information. AFTER Quota Setting Methods I & II will be phased out over a period of up to 3 years. A new method to estimate Quota will be available in conjunction with the implementation of the Quota-Range process.

    9. Use of Quota Range BEFORE Quota is set after 1st invitational. AFTER CPH should provide Quota Range to chapters for planning purposes each round during fully structured recruitment. Quota Range should be set using formula based on number of women actively participating at that time as well as systems historical results & variance in retention rates. Quota will be set after Preference round of Fully Structured Recruitment.

    10. Determining Weighted Average Attending OH* Sign MRAAS** % Last yr 400 340 85% 1 yr prior 360 288 80% 2 yrs prior 375 325 87% Weighted average: [(3 x .85) + (2 x .80) + (1 x .87)] divided by 6 = 84% *Open House Round **Membership Recruitment Acceptance Agreement
