  2. A tropical rainforest is warm all year long. Yearly rainfall ranges from 80 to 400 inches. E. Napp

  3. Tropical rainforests now cover less than 6% of the earth’s surface. E. Napp

  4. Plants in the tropical rainforest produce much of the world’s oxygen. In fact, 40% of the earth’s oxygen is produced in rainforests. E. Napp

  8. While the original inhabitants of the rainforest were hunters and gatherers, agriculture has become increasingly popular. Slash and burn farming destroys the rain forest as does logging. E. Napp

  10. Many tribal people live in the rainforest. They depend on the forest for their food and shelter. As more trees are cut, more native tribes are in danger of losing their way of life. E. Napp

  11. Slash and burn farming is the practice of cutting down trees and burning the tree stumps and foliage to clear the land. E. Napp

  12. While the soil is initially fertile from ashes, slash and burn farming ultimately destroys the rainforest. E. Napp

After researching information on tropical rainforests, geographic effects, and the dangers of deforestation (rainforest destruction), it is your turn to write your monologue as a tropical rainforest. “I am a tropical rainforest.
