  1. The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry

  2. Summary This story takes place in the rainforest. There are a lot of characters but the main characters of the story is the man and the animals. The problem in this story is that two men walk in the rainforest and the tall man pointed to the Kapok tree and told him to cut it down. The trunk made the man tired because it was enormous. So he layed down and took a rest under the sunshine. When he was sleeping the animals came down and convinced the man not to cut down the tree . For example the porkiepine said, “We need trees for oxygen to breath so we can stay a live.” I love The Great Kapok Tree By Lynne Cherry. So I sugjest you go over to your local library and check out this book.

  3. Text to Text Connection I just read two amazing stories called The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry and The Salamander Room by Ann Mazer . A boy named Bryan found a little orange salamander in the woods and decided to take him home . There was an amphibian in The Great Kapok Tree too . That amphibian is a frog . So bacecly Brian wanted to dezine his room for his new little salamander . I think he did that just because he wanted his salamander to feel welcome and so he can live and be in a new envirement . In The Great Kapok Tree there are lots of animals that share that fantastic Rainforest for their home..

  4. Text to Self Connection In The Great Kapok Tree there is a tree loved by many animals. I can relate to this story because I have a favorite tree I love to clime . It’s in my backyard . One time my daddy helped me clime a little higher than I usealyclime. But he siad I could only do it with him or my mommy . In The Great Kapok Tree many animals clime the kapok tree.

  5. Text to World Connection I made a Text to World Connection with rainforest because its sunny and it rains sometimes . Also when its does rain it make some floods just like in the rainforest . Rain gives plants , animals ,and humans water .But when the sun comes out it does the same thing . Rain is a part of our every day world because it has many good uses. Next, if you cut rainforests down then the air would be dryer and cause droughts . Rainforests matter because they give homes to many animals and people that live in the rainforest. That’s why rainforests are so important .
