  2. Summary I read The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. This story takes place in the rain forest. In this story a man tries to cut down the Kapok tree. The tree is to heavy a lot of drops fall down the mans face. He falls asleep. Suddenly animals come out of nowhere and pursuiuaide the guy because they lived in the tree. The animals need oxegon and the people. I recommend this book 10 out of 10 trees because it is fantastic. This is The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry.

  3. Text to Self I read The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. In this story there is a snake.Once I saw a snake in Florida. The snake in the story said,” Senhor this tree is a tree of miracles. It is my home where generations of my ancestors have lived. Do not cut it down .” The snake that I saw wasn’t talking. It was slithering across the pavement. Then it went into the bushes. This is my connection.

  4. Text to Text I made a text to text connection when I read The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. I read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. My text to text connection is that in the story The Giving Tree a boy is so greedy all of the tree’s parts come off. Then in The Great Kapok Tree a man tries to cut down the tree with all his might. Then he gave up. Those were great books about trees.

  5. Text to world I read The Great Kapok Tree he by Lynne Cherry. This story takes place in the rainforest. This is why rain forest matter. They offer homes to trees, other plants, animals, and local people. Over 80 countries are in the tropics. Plants and animals make up the rainforest. Rainforests give us crops and medicines. This is why the effects of cutting down the rainforest are bad. We lose trees. We lose plants and animals. It affects our climate and the way we live. If all the Amazon rainforest was destroyed 77 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide would be released into atmosphere. If rainforest trees are cut down the air becomes drier.
