  1. Routine collection of Nutrition indicators through SMS • It is a 2-way communication channel between health facilities/workers, VHWs and the Ministry of Health and Child Care. • Health facilities/workers are registered into the system and weekly poll initiated • The poll collects data on nutrition indicators that helps Partners to address and monitor nutrition needs in emergency affected areas appropriately. • FREE. - Any costs to send or receive messages are free on ALL networks. All costs are covered by UNICEF. Objectives of Bempu SMS • The information collected from Health Facility Personnel and VHWs will be used for coordination and show the status of indicators at their health facility. • These polls will be run on a weekly basis in the emergency districts to inform programming and status. Information for Android Phones users (eg Samsung, Gtel, ZTE, Techno, Huawei) • Android issues an automated alert on your phone when you respond to a text message from a short code. • The message warns you that there may be text message charges associated with the message you’re about to send, but sending the message does not cause extra charges. Fig 1 • Instruct the respondents to avoid this warning, by checking the box (Remember my choice) and selecting SEND (Always allow messages) • Sending and receiving to 33800 is FREE on all networks • No airtime will be deducted
