  3. Late Design/Procedure Changes • Waste Locations (WL) IDs • At the last WP Operator meeting, the need was identified to have generator waste locations viewable only by the BA that requested the generator location. • To accommodate this, it was required that the Waste Location Descriptions/Types be expanded to identify if the Type was a generator or receiver waste location. • Waste Location IDs are required for the following: • Non-ERCB Regulated Facilities • Out of Province wells • Out of Province waste generating facilities • Out of Province waste receiving facilities • Water sources other than AB fresh water or from rivers and lakes. AB fresh water sources should use the existing Registry Water Source process.

  4. Late Design/Procedure Changes cont’d Waste Locations (WL) Information Updated listing of waste location descriptions/types

  5. Late Design/Procedure Changescont’d Waste Locations (WL) Information, Cont’d To lookup a WL ID you must go to the Edit Waste Plant Submission Page and Click on the From/to Lookup to open the Identifier Lookup Change the Type to WL and Click Go.

  6. Late Design/Procedure Changescont’d • Please note: To help users select the correct WL ID, the identifier name is a combination of information regarding the Waste Location. • R or G for Receiver or Generator Type • The AB or Non-Alberta Location • A portion of the name

  7. Late Design/Procedure Changes cont’d Water Source Information To create an AB Water Source ID, use the Request Water Source ID process. Fill in the location, name and select the appropriate code by using the lookup button. (i.e. Fresh water, Battle River etc.) Click OK and then Submit

  8. Late Design/Procedure Changes cont’d WP Facility Operational Status • The Registry had a number of waste plant facilities set up that did not require monthly S25 reporting. • The Registry required a method of identifying between reporting and non-reporting. • This was accommodated by changing the non-reporting WP Facilities Operational Status to “Retired”. • This status may not be accurate, however due to time constraints and limited options for the short-term this was deemed the best temporary solution by the ERCB and Registry team.

  9. Learnings From Test File Submissions • All test files must be .CSV, Excel .XLS files will not be acceptable. • Ensure the leading zeroes are included for the revision number (it is always 001). • Ensure the leading zeroes are include for the facility identifiers. The identifier must always be 7 digits. • Ensure you have the correct waste code listing. • Review, when available, the WP Edit/Validation rules that will be posted on the Registry Website → Resource Centre → Job Aids. This information will be available by April 3/09. • A few examples: • REC must indicate a N or D • INVCL does not require a Waste Code • You must not report the same Facility, Activity, Waste code and N/D combination more than once in the same month at the same WP.

  10. Final Readiness Suggestions • Send in a test file via email to: • Ann.hagedorn@gov.ab.ca • Subject line: WP Inter-operability testing • Send in Fuel Gas information via email to: • Ann.hagedorn@gov.ab.ca • Subject line: Fuel Gas Sources • Take the training • Ensure your facility and well ids are valid • Use the Registry reports • Facility Infrastructure • Well Infrastructure • Use the Registry queries • Query Facility Information

  11. Demonstration • Online Pages • Edit Waste Plant Submission • Query Waste Plant Submission • Batch Upload • Query Well Status • Query Facility Information • Request Waste Location ID • Reports • Waste Plant ERCB Noncompliance Report • Request Well Infrastructure Report • Request Facility Infrastructure Report

  12. Further Design Discussion/Changes • Over the course of testing the Waste Plant functionality, there were a couple of items that have been addressed that require additional input and probable future changes to the waste plant reporting process. These items include: • Allowing Out-of-Province well IDs instead of needing a waste location for each. • The handling of Cavern WPs, (Subtype 702) and current reporting at Injection Facilities (IF) associated with cavern waste plants. • BAs who have IF’s are requested to continue reporting the IF data without any changes and only report the closing inventory at the cavern waste plants until this issue is resolved. • The current handling of non-reporting WP Facilities by changing the non-reporting WP Facilities Operational Status to “Retired”. • Meetings will be held in the near future to discuss these items and find an effective method of addressing these issues.

  13. Post Implementation Priorities • A number of items were not available upon implementation of the Waste Plant Reporting, due to a variety of reasons. • The following items have been identified, and need to be prioritized as to level of importance for development: • WP facility volume report • On Line screen should include a Validate Button • Out of Province well ids instead of WL ids • Cavern and IF reporting issues • WP ERCB Non Compliance report should have two sweep/automatic versions, a warning and a final distributed to the WP operators. • Improvements to Waste Location process including a query or report. • Non-reporting WP Facilities Operational Status to “Retired”.

  14. Training Module Orientation • The Registry Training team has published a number of training modules to assist users in using the online submission process. These training modules are located on the Registry Website → Resource Centre → Training Login. • These new modules describe the changes to the waste plant submission process and will include step by step examples using the new Registry screens to assist users to use the online submission process. • To apply for access to the Registry Resource Centre training modules please follow these steps: • Fill in the blanks below. • Company Name: • Business Associate Identifier: • First Name: • Middle Initial: • Last Name: • Telephone Number: • 2. Highlight and paste the information into an email. • 3. Address the email to petroleumregistry.energy@gov.ab.ca.

  15. Training Module Orientation cont’d • The training team recommends that you complete the following training modules. • User Security Administrator and BA User Roles and Setups • 2.1 Set-up User Account Overview • 2.2 Manage User Roles • 2.3 Manage User ID’s and Access • 2.4 Manage BA Designate Relationship • Reports and Queries • 9.0 Manage Reports and Queries • Facility ID Application • 5.2 a&b Manage Facility ID Application • Waste Plant Submissions • 4.15a&b Manage Waste Plant Submissions • 5.10a&b Request Waste Location ID
