Slide info Slides 3 – 8 – Introduce some examples of project titles to help them focus As an introduction to the lesson – we need the students to start thinking about possible research titles so on slides 3 - 8 there are some examples that the students could use or even get inspiration from to help focus their research. This is just to give them flavour. This lesson is to finish their RURU booklets ready to start the individual project next week. Homework after lesson 5 – students to complete the secondary research booklet if they have not finished. They can upload their documents either to a USB / drop box / Hwb / Complete in library after school or in L7 during lunch Teacher ONLY slide

  2. Reminder - Volunteering You must have completed your 10 hours of volunteering within the next 2 weeks. After half term you will be reviewing your 10 hours in your Welsh Bacc lessons so you must have finished by the time you come back to school. Speak to Miss Feathers or Mrs Hawke-Jones if you are worried you wont be finished in time.

  5. Examples of project titles: • Has the standard of Welsh football improved during the past few years? • Has there been an increase in the number of girls participating in sport? • What impact has social media had on family traditions? • Can Wales compete on a Global scale with its music?

  6. Examples of project titles: • Is studying A-levels an advantage to your future? • Do pop stars help the image of young people or do they create more harm than good? • What has been the impact of EURO 2016 on Welsh football?

  7. Examples of project titles: • Which country provides the best standard of education in comparison to the UK? • Will going to University guarantee us a successful career and a well paid job? • What is the best age to learn a foreign language? • What are the advantages of being bilingual?

  8. Examples of project titles: • What is the crime rate in Wales? Has this increased or decreased in the past 5 years? • Has our National Health Service improved or deteriorated in the past 5 years? • How much support is there for our youngsters with additional educational needs once they leave school?

  9. Examples of project titles: • Reduce, re-use & recycling – how effective are recycling methods in my local area? • What impact does the National Park have on protecting our Welsh environment? • Should we as young people be making more of an effort to eat healthily?

  10. ACTIVITY:LAST LESSON ON SECONDARY RESEARCH SKILLS LAST LESSON to complete your Skill Building- Secondary Research booklet WARNING: This will be homework if you have not completed it by the end of today’s lesson!
