Entry and ExitSummary Declarations Since 1 July 2009, carriers have to send pre-arrival and pre-departure information to the customs authority for all goods entering or leaving the EU, according to EU legislation The purpose is to ensure an equivalent level of protection through customs controls for all goods brought into or out of EU customs territory The information should be sent in the form of entry and exit summary declarations (c) International Road Transport Union (IRU) 2010

New EU Regulations 2011 The ‘Safety and Security Amendment’ to the CCC Requires traders to provide customs authorities with information on goods prior to import or export to or from the EU Introduces uniform Community risk-selection criteria for controls Allows the consultation of all national registration numbers (EORI) For the purpose of Avoiding delay to consignments pending the results of the risk analysis Allowing carriers to concentrate all the information in a single customs office Ensuring that the safety and security risk analysis is carried out before the arrival of the goods in the EU (c) International Road Transport Union (IRU) 2010
