Iditarod

Sled Dog Race

The Iditarod Race

  • Run in Alaska the first weekend in March

  • The course goes from Anchorage to Nome

  • The course is 1150 miles long

  • Takes 9-17 days


Iditarod Teamwork

  • One musher

  • 12 -16 Sled Dogs

  • Alaskan Huskies are the most commonly used dogs on teams


Alaska's Jr. Iditarod

  • 14-17 year old mushers

  • 140 mile race

  • Held one week before the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race
