  2. at Hot Topic: Curbing Unlicensed & Unpermitted Work Making progress with the help of local agencies. The HBA’s Remodelers Council met in February and brought together representatives of the local chapters of the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Pool & Spa Associations and the GCBX, along with the directors of Planning and Development for Manatee and Sarasota counties, several building officials, code enforcement officers, the Sarasota Sheriffs Office, the State Attorney’s Office, and other industry professionals to discuss strategy on the unlicensed and unpermitted work going on in our two counties. This meeting was extremely successful and served as a catalyst in uniting “shareholders” of the industry to work together in curbing this dangerous activity. In the near future, we expect to be able to provide a single-source database listing all offenders in order to be more proactive in reporting suspected unlicensed activity to code enforcement. TJ Nutter, Peter Mason and Michael Kramer at the POH Awards Ceremony Law Enforcement Is Cracking Down...
