  2. Types of Media • When a company makes the choice to advertise its products, it has a wide choice of media to choose from. • local • regional • national • international • terrestrial • satellite • worldwide web • specialist media

Local • Local media is usually only available in a discrete geographical area. • There are numerous local radio stations, though some of these are part of a larger network. • Some larger towns have local cable channels making it possible for small local companies to utilise television advertising.

  5. Regional • Regional media covers a wider area than local media. • There are regional newspapers and most of the television networks on ITV can be used for regional advertising.

  7. National • National media gives companies an opportunity to deliver a message across the whole country. • This can be through a national newspaper such as The Guardian or on a television network such as Channel 4.
