Thirty Eight APEC Transportation Working Group Meeting, Bali, Indonesia 1 – 5 July 2013 E-Port Linkages - Update • To provide an update on the project from the last TPT-WG37 in Ho Chi Minh City in April 2013 • Australia has now finalised the project after the successful workshop in Shanghai in February this year.

Thirty Eight APEC Transportation Working Group Meeting, Bali, Indonesia 1 – 5 July 2013 E-Port Linkages - Update • Project’s objectives: To identify ways to improve electronic information exchanges between maritime ports in APEC economies • To address Chokepoint 7 of the APEC Supply Chain Connectivity Framework where differing cross-border standards impact on the smooth of flow of goods and services.

Thirty Eight APEC Transportation Working Group Meeting, Bali, Indonesia 1 – 5 July 2013 E-Port Linkages - Update • Workshop - discussions to identify information infrastructure deficiencies hindering the efficient movement of goods through seaports and also to provide a framework for strategies to overcome these efficiencies.

Thirty Eight APEC Transportation Working Group Meeting, Bali, Indonesia 1 – 5 July 2013 E-Port Linkages - Update • A framework to enable APEC economies to better utilise the existing electronic information systems through developing an agreed protocol for paperless trading to reduce bottlenecks at seaports.
