2. History • The California Cat Hotel was started in 2013. I really love cats and when I went away on vacation, I had a hard time finding someone to watch my cats for me. So, I had the idea to open a cat hotel where people could leave their cats when they go away on vacation. Our hotel is located in San Francisco which is a really beautiful city with a lot of cat owners. So, we have a lot of potential customers. We asked some cat owners if they would be interested in our services and they said they would be. We plan to hire three people to work for us and to help us take care of the cats throughout the day. We’d like there to always be an employee on site at the hotel.

Business strategy • With an initial investment of $50,000 we can rent the hotel space and renovate it so that it’s ready to accept customers. • We plan to advertise our business on social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp), put an advertisement in the local newspaper, and offer a promotion for first-time customers. • Our goal is to have 100 customers in the first month. We also plan to hire two people in the first month.
